This story was so interesting until I just had a hard time stopping from reading it. I had an appointment. I rushed back to reading to see what Shanelle had up her sleeve next. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for enjoyment reading. The author was very skillful in ending each chapter with anticipation to keep the reader , reading to see what happens next. Just Flirted edition by China Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Boy meets girl. They fall in love. They get married. They live happily ever after. "Just Flirted" takes a light-hearted, sometimes dark, yet humorous approach to that concept by throwing a wench...I meant, wrench...into the plans of Tristan and his dearly beloved. In this short novel, author China uses humor and wit to masterfully unfold the plans of Shanelle, a well-meaning single woman who thinks that she has met the man of her dreams. It is soon revealed that, to the man of her dreams, she is about to become his worst nightmare. China finds a way to dissect both a woman's desire to find love and her penchant to make a man pay if he plays around with that love. The problem is that Tristan had no conscious idea that he was even in the game. This book will captivate you from beginning to end and will have you wanting to tell everyone that you "Just Flirted."
I enjoyed the story line; It could be a book club reader and a short film (Tyler Perry look out).
at first the book started off a little slow for me, then it picked up my interest around abt the 4th or 5th chapter. afterward it was a page turner I couldn't put it down. overall it was a great book reasd, I wld definitely wld read another book around the same genre as this one in the near future. "kudos to the writer."
I've just finished reading Just Flirted. It was very enjoyable and a quick paced read. It flowed effortlessly from page to page. I look forward to reading more about the character's lives in the future.
There is a great play with words, but I believe that there are some gaps (which can be addressed in the sequel) or I may have just missed them in my first read.
Overall great job!
I wanted to like this story, and do think it had a lot of potential, but ultimately I believe this story fell flat. The main character, Shanelle, is someone who I believe a lot of women can relate to and that is the reason why I read the book. However, ultimately I was extremely disappointed.
The book is written almost entirely in present tense. Yes, there are books written in present tense that work but this is not one of them. Every now and then the book would shift tenses and there would be a few moments of great dialogue, then it would go back to a weird and distracting use of present tense.
Most importantly (in my opinion at least), I had no idea what the main characters looked like. The initial descriptions did not include hair color, eye color etc. The only things I know about these people are that they are "chiseled", "pretty", have "nice hair" and "nice teeth".
Literally. The book says "nice teeth" more than once.
This isn't a horrible book (hence two stars instead of one) but I just do not believe it is worth $3.99 (price at the time of this review) for 81 pages of mediocrity.
What a truly delightful story! The author does an excellent job in this short but easy to read comedy leaving the reader in stitches as the story unfolds in a sequence of events that will have the reader wondering how will Shanelle get Tristan next. If a lighthearted comedy is on your list of must reads "Just Flirted" is not to be missed!
